Retail Store Fixtures for Toronto & the GTA

DNS Industries manufactures custom retail store fixtures for Toronto and the GTA from its facility at 967 Edgeley Blvd in Vaughan. Cash wraps, display casework, merchandising walls and feature millwork are engineered, machined, finished and staged in one building, then delivered to your store on the opening schedule. We fixture single flagship stores and multi-location programs, including more than 60 stores for L’Occitane North America.

Retail fixtures we build for GTA stores

  • Cash wraps and service counters: built to take POS equipment, power and data, with storage and display included. Typically one of the highest-wear fixtures in a store.
  • Display casework and showcases: locking glass cases with LED lighting built to the project’s specification and Canadian electrical approval requirements.
  • Merchandising walls: shelving and panel systems that can be re-merchandised as the assortment changes.
  • Mid-floor tables and gondolas: built to the fixture plan and set up for the planogram.
  • Feature millwork: focal pieces, entrance elements and branded feature walls.
  • Fitting rooms and back-of-house casework: fitting-room surrounds, stockroom storage and staff-area cabinetry.

For display-led projects, see custom display fixtures and visual merchandising millwork.

Toronto retail is built in tight windows

Many Toronto store openings are governed by the landlord’s schedule: mall turnover dates, podium retail under active condo construction, downtown loading docks booked in set windows. Fixtures that arrive late or in the wrong order can delay an opening while rent is already running. Being inside the GTA lets us:

  • Verify site dimensions before shop drawings are released to production.
  • Hold finished fixtures at our facility and release them when the store is ready.
  • Sequence deliveries to the install plan and the dock booking.
  • Have your designer or GC inspect a first-article unit in person before production.
  • Review accessibility, electrical and landlord requirements with the project team at shop-drawing stage, before fabrication.

Single stores and multi-store programs

A single flagship and a fifty-store program need different things from a fixture manufacturer. A flagship needs close coordination with the design team and custom detailing. A rollout program needs an approved pilot, a controlled bill of materials and the same quality checks on every production run. We run both through the same floor. For how multi-location programs work, see retail store fixtures and rollout programs.

Retail segments we know well

  • Specialty and beauty: L’Occitane North America (supplier of record), Le Creuset at The Well.
  • Apparel and lifestyle: Herschel Supply Co., Mango, Uniqlo.
  • Direct-to-consumer showrooms: King Living, Silk & Snow, Cozey. See showroom millwork.
  • Cannabis retail: fixture and millwork packages for more than 350 locations. See cannabis dispensary fixtures.
  • Shop-in-shop: the BSH / Bosch appliance display program inside Best Buy, Home Depot, Rona and Sleep Country.

One team for the whole fixture

A retail fixture is rarely just wood. A display case is millwork, metal, glass and light at once; a cash wrap often adds solid surface and provisions for power and data. The whole fixture is engineered in one set of shop drawings, assembled and checked in our Vaughan facility, and run by one project team: millwork, metal, solid surface, acrylic, glass, LED integration and finishing. See materials and finishes.

Cost and lead time

For planning numbers, see what commercial millwork costs or try the budget estimator. For schedules, see store fixture lead times; on many retail projects, drawing and finish approvals drive the schedule more than fabrication does. If a budget needs to come down, value engineering looks at materials, details and production methods before it touches durability.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work directly with retailers or through a contractor?

Both. Brands come to us directly for programs; on single stores we often work through the general contractor or the store designer. See working with architects, designers and GCs.

Can you build from a brand’s existing fixture standards?

Yes. We can build from an existing design manual or reference store, or help turn a first store into a standard that later stores repeat.

Do you fixture stores outside Toronto?

Yes. The same facility ships across Canada and the United States; L’Occitane stores we have built range from North Vancouver to San Juan. See store fixture manufacturer in Ontario.

What do you need for a quote?

Drawings or a design intent package, a finish schedule if you have one, the store address and the opening date. Send them through Get in Touch or call 905-761-9568.
